Sri Lanka, district by district

Every district we drive, with the hotels, towns and places to visit we hold coordinates for. Switch the layers on and off to see one kind of pin at a time, and click any pin for its page.

What the pins are

Hotels we quote transfers for, the towns with their own taxi page, the places most people travel to see, and the international airports. Each one is a place we hold a fixed coordinate for, so the map draws the same way every time rather than re-deriving positions on the fly.

Where the boundaries come from

The twenty-five district outlines are the geoBoundaries gbOpen LKA ADM2 dataset, published under the Open Database Licence, simplified for the browser. The base tiles are OpenStreetMap.

Somewhere missing?

The map shows the places we have verified coordinates for, not everywhere we will drive. A journey to somewhere without a pin is still a journey we will quote — ask for it on the quote form.
