Getting to and from Wadduwa
The coast road here runs closer to the sea than it does further south, with the beach hotels facing straight onto it rather than being set back behind a headland or a lagoon. It is the first proper beach town heading out of the city, which is why it is often the shortest coastal run this site prices — closer to a city transfer than a long-distance one. The expressway interchange used for journeys further south is a short distance inland from here, not something a Wadduwa journey needs.
Arranging a pickup
Being close to the city, Wadduwa pickups are less affected by the timing quirks that matter further down the coast — there is no expressway stretch to plan around, just the ordinary road out of town. Hotels here tend to be smaller and more spread out along the coast road than the resort clusters further south, so a road name and a landmark are both worth giving when booking.
Questions about taxis in Wadduwa
How much is a taxi in Wadduwa?
From Rs 12,060 in a Mini / Small Car, to Colombo: the lowest fare on the board. Each route below carries its own fixed price, distance and driving time — quoted before you book, with no meter and no surcharge on arrival.
Can I book a taxi from Wadduwa to Colombo airport?
Yes, and it is one of the routes most often booked from here. Give your flight number when you book and your driver has it. There is no automatic flight tracking yet, so if you are delayed, message your driver on the number in your confirmation. Extended waiting beyond the pickup window is chargeable on a point-to-point transfer, and the terms say by how much.
Are the drivers in Wadduwa verified?
Licence and vehicle are checked before a driver can quote, and each one has a profile showing their rating, experience and the exact car — including the registration — so you know who is coming before you book.
