Female & child friendly taxis

Safe rides. Comfortable journeys. More choice.

Sri Lanka TaxiList makes it easier for women and families to find transport that suits them. You see the driver, the vehicle and the fixed price before you book — and you choose, rather than being assigned whoever is nearest.

Know your ride before you travel

You are shown all of this before you confirm anything, and you choose from it — the site does not assign you whoever is nearest.

The driver
Name, photograph, star rating and how many journeys they have completed. Their languages and years of driving, on their own profile page.
The vehicle
Make, model, year, registration number, how many seats and how much luggage it takes.
The operator
The company behind the driver, named on every result, so you know who you are dealing with.
The price
Fixed when you book. No meter, no surge — not in December, not at 2 a.m., not when it rains.

Family travel made easier

Family journeys usually come down to the bags rather than the people. These are the passenger and luggage capacities for each class of vehicle on the platform. Going to the airport with cases and a pushchair? Size up one class.

Luggage figures are what a class carries with the seats full. An individual vehicle may carry more; its own figure is shown on the result when the operator has recorded one.
Vehicle Typically Passengers Luggage Book
Economy / Medium Car Aqua, Fit Up to 4 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small Book
Sedan Axio, Premio Up to 4 2 large, 1 medium Book
SUV Vezel, CR-V Up to 5 2 large, 1 medium, 1 small Book
Mini Van Every, Noah, Voxy Up to 7 2 large, 2 small Book
Van Toyota KDH Up to 14 2 large, 2 medium, 2 small Book

Travelling to or from the airport with children and luggage takes planning. Compare the vehicles above, then say what you need in the notes when you book — extra luggage, a scheduled pickup, a flight number.

What we are still building

These are asked for often and none of them exists yet. We would rather say so here than show you a filter that quietly returns everybody, or a badge that might be wrong at the kerb with a child in your arms.

Female driver preference
A search preference rather than a guarantee, shown only where a driver has told us it applies to them.
Child seat requests
Requested at booking and confirmed by the operator — never shown as confirmed until they have actually confirmed it.
Verification badges
Backed by real checks that have been completed and recorded, so a badge means something specific rather than everything or nothing.
Share your journey
A secure link giving someone you trust the driver, the vehicle and the journey status — and expiring after the trip.

Travelling now and one of these matters? Tell us when you book and we will give you a straight answer about what is available.

Questions people ask

Can I ask for a female driver?

Not through search yet. Female-driver preference is being built, and until it is we would rather say so than show a filter that quietly returns everybody. If it matters for your journey, ask us when you book and we will tell you honestly what is available.

Do your taxis have child seats?

Some operators can provide one and some cannot, and there is no field on a vehicle recording it yet — so we will not print a badge that might be wrong at the kerb with a child in your arms. Ask when you book. Child-seat requests with operator confirmation are the next thing being built.

What can I actually see about a driver before I book?

Their name, photograph, rating, completed journeys, languages and years of experience, plus the vehicle they will arrive in and its registration. You choose from that. What we do not yet show is what has been formally checked, and we are not going to imply it has been.

Which vehicle should I book for a family?

It depends on the bags more often than the people. The table on this page gives passenger and luggage capacity for each class from our own fleet data. If you are going to or from the airport with cases and a pushchair, size up one class.

Can somebody follow my journey?

Not yet through the site. Journey sharing is being built on the live location the platform already records. Until it exists, the practical version is the one people already use: send the driver name, vehicle and registration from your booking confirmation to whoever is expecting you.

Your journey. Your choice.

Compare the vehicles that suit your journey, look at the driver and the operator behind each quote, and pick the one that works for you. The price you are shown is the price you pay.
