Every fare on this platform is arithmetic you can check. This page sets out the arithmetic.
How a fare is built
A quote is a base fare for the vehicle class plus a per-kilometre rate over the distance of the journey. Both figures come from the published rate card, and both are shown to you before you book. A minimum fare applies to very short journeys.
Larger vehicles cost more per kilometre because they cost more to run. A tuk tuk and a fifty-seat bus are not priced the same way, and the class you choose is the largest single factor in what you pay.
The rate card
Rates are published live on the main site, on the Choose Your Ride section, showing the current per-kilometre rate for every class from tuk tuk to bus. That page reads the same rate card the quote engine uses, so it cannot show you one figure and charge another.
Night, weekend and holiday travel
Journeys between 22:00 and 05:00 are quoted at the published night rate. Some classes carry a weekend or public holiday rate. Where one applies it is included in the price you are shown at booking — it is never added later.
What is included
- The driver and the vehicle for the journey booked.
- Fuel.
- The waiting allowance for your booking type.
What is not
- Expressway tolls and parking, where the route requires them. These are shown separately on the quote.
- Waiting time beyond the included allowance.
- Additional stops not in the original booking.
- Any gratuity, which is entirely at your discretion.
No surge pricing
We do not multiply fares by demand. Not at peak hour, not on a public holiday, not in bad weather. The rate card is the rate card. This is a deliberate commercial choice: a price that moves while you are deciding is a price you cannot trust.
Paying
You can pay by card or in cash to the driver.
Card payments are taken on a hosted Stripe checkout page. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own page and never pass through our systems. You will be asked to complete 3-D Secure where your bank requires it.
Cash is paid directly to the driver at the end of the journey, at the fare quoted. A driver asking for more than the quoted fare is in breach of platform rules — report it through the contact form and we will act on it.
Prices in other currencies
Fares are set and charged in Sri Lankan Rupees. You may display prices in another currency for convenience; the converted figure is indicative, is rounded up, and the amount actually charged is the Rupee amount. Your card issuer sets the exchange rate it applies and may add its own fee.
Receipts
A receipt is issued for every completed journey and is available in your booking history. Business travellers can request an itemised invoice through the contact form.
Getting in touch
Every enquiry, complaint and request under this policy goes through the contact form on the main site. Choose the category that fits — booking, payments, cancellation, additional service, complaint, additional information or other — describe what happened and attach any evidence. That form routes your message to the team that can actually act on it and gives you a record of what you sent.
