Driver onboarding and verification

Driver onboarding and verification

Passengers on this platform choose their driver by name and photograph. That only works if every driver on the list has been properly checked, so verification here is thorough and is repeated as documents expire.

What you need before you start

About you

  • National Identity Card or passport.
  • A valid Sri Lankan driving licence for the class of vehicle you will drive.
  • A recent photograph, clearly showing your face — this is shown to passengers.
  • A phone number and an address that reach you.
  • Police clearance (Grama Niladhari certificate or Police Report).
  • A medical fitness certificate where required for your vehicle class.

About the vehicle

  • Certificate of Registration showing you as owner, or written authority from the owner.
  • Valid revenue licence.
  • Valid insurance covering hire and reward — private cover is not sufficient and will be rejected.
  • Certificate of fitness where the vehicle class requires one.
  • Clear photographs of the vehicle, inside and out.

The steps

  1. Register. Create your account with your name, phone number and the vehicle you intend to list.
  2. Upload documents. Photograph or scan each document in full — all four corners visible, text legible. Cropped or blurred uploads are the most common cause of delay.
  3. Verification. We check each document against the issuing record, confirm the licence class matches the vehicle, and confirm the insurance covers hire and reward. This normally takes 2 to 3 working days.
  4. Vehicle listing. Your vehicle is assigned its class, which sets the rate band it is quoted at.
  5. Go live. Once approved you appear in search results and can quote for journeys.

Why an application is refused

The usual reasons, in order of frequency: insurance that does not cover hire and reward; a licence class that does not match the vehicle; an expired revenue licence or fitness certificate; a document photographed so poorly it cannot be read; and a vehicle registered to someone else with no written authority. We tell you which of these applies rather than issuing a bare rejection, and you can correct and resubmit.

Staying listed

Verification is not a one-off. Insurance, revenue licences, fitness certificates and driving licences all expire, and a listing is only as valid as its documents.

We track every expiry date and warn you at 30, 14 and 7 days. If a document lapses, your listing is suspended until a current one is uploaded — existing bookings are honoured where it is lawful to do so, and otherwise reassigned at no cost to the passenger. Suspension for a lapsed document is not a penalty and is lifted as soon as the replacement is verified.

Standards we expect

  • Arrive at the agreed time, in the vehicle shown on the booking.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy.
  • Take a reasonable route and drive lawfully.
  • Treat every passenger with courtesy, regardless of who they are.
  • Never solicit payment outside the platform or above the quoted fare.
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The last two result in immediate and permanent removal. The others are handled proportionately, and you will always be told what has been reported and given the chance to respond.

Getting paid

Fares collected by card are paid to you on the platform's settlement cycle, less the agreed commission. Cash fares are collected by you directly and the commission is reconciled against your account. Your earnings record is visible in your dashboard at all times.

Getting in touch

Every enquiry, complaint and request under this policy goes through the contact form on the main site. Choose the category that fits — booking, payments, cancellation, additional service, complaint, additional information or other — describe what happened and attach any evidence. That form routes your message to the team that can actually act on it and gives you a record of what you sent.
