What a Bus is for

Full-size coach hire for large groups — conferences and company events, school and college trips, pilgrimages, daily staff transport. These are booked by the day rather than by the journey, with a driver who stays with the group from the first pickup to the last drop, which is the only arrangement that works when the itinerary changes on the day.

When it is the wrong choice

A coach is restricted to roads built to take one, which rules out much of the hill country and a good many of the smaller sites. Where an itinerary has tight access at even one stop, two minibuses usually work out better than a single coach, and cost little more.
